How to play

  1. Install F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (Steam or GOG) and update it to v1.05.
  2. Install Fear2Tool and the F.E.A.R. 2 Engine Mod (f2em), which points the game at these servers. Public downloads are coming soon.
  3. Start the game from Fear2Tool.
  4. Online Play: pick a name and join or host a game. No account needed.
  5. Ranked Play: create an account in the game (email, password and a nick), then play ranked matches for XP, ranks and a place on the leaderboards.

About your password

The game's account system was designed by GameSpy in 2008, and it requires the server to keep a form of your password that is far weaker than modern sites use. Use a password for your F.E.A.R. 2 account that you use nowhere else.
